“committed to training excellence”

SkyTech Training Program

All prospective franchise owners attend our training course in either Auckland or Christchurch. During your training course, you’ll get to meet our founder and managing director, Mark Lusby, as well as other prospective franchise owners who are also looking to kick-start their new careers.

Our training program seeks to equip people with skills that they’ll be able to use not only in business, but in life. Over the course, you’ll learn everything you need to know about starting and running a successful business. Your course is not just about operating drones. We also focus on customer service to sales; from resilience building to marketing, we’ll cover it all.

For more specialised modules like monthly drone maintenance and annual maintenance inspections, trainees will undergo a few extra days of specific training. The purpose of these extra training days is to equip our trainees with the technical skills necessary to run their business.

Training is fairly intensive and will take between 4-6 weeks with significant time being spent with the SkyTech team in the field. In addition to covering drone operations, vehicle and service body operating procedures, safety & compliance and maintenance, appreciable time is spent reviewing and understanding the requirements of Civil Aviation Authority Part 102.

Pre-course, you will attend training through an approved organisation to obtain the Advanced UAV Pilot Licence, Chemical Rating, and a First Aid Certificate.
